About 50 KM into a weekend cruise to Calabogie, near Ottawa, 3rd gear started making terrible noises. Determined not to miss the tour, I carried on, using only 4th as much as possible. Upon making it back, I pulled the drain plug to find this. I was able to fix it myself with a thorough cleaning and $50.00 in bearings.
