SUMMARY:OZC Tour of Traditional Motors Company - Bigger Space!
DESCRIPTION:We can’t wait to see what Traditional Motors Company has done to their shop.  We toured this location last year and loved it.  We found out that they expanded and we can’t wait to go back! \nOZC Member Lino Baggio has kindly offered to take us on another tour of this amazing consignment shop – cars\, motorcycles\, art… you name it.   Check out their online gallery! \nThe tour of the shop is planned for Saturday May 24 in Fergus\, Ontario. We are meeting for lunch at 11:30am at the Goofie Newfie\, where we received excellent service and delicious food last year.  We are limited to two tables of 10\,  please reach out to Eric Zondervan to register (by Friday the 23rd at noon) and get all the details! \nThere isn’t a specific driving tour planned for after the tour\, but if it’s a nice day and a few of us are interested\, we can do a “pop up” tour after visiting Traditional.

SUMMARY:OZC at the 2025 VARAC Vintage Grand Prix Lapping Day
DESCRIPTION:Every year as part of the annual VARAC Vintage Grand Prix weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park\, VARAC runs a lapping/test day on the Thursday of the event. \nAnd every year\, a handful of Z cars from OZC join them! \nBy far it is the best “bang for your buck” on the Grand Prix Track at CTMP\, with this year’s fee staying at only $400 for the day. \nThis is not an aggressive track day – it’s a well organized\, well run\, good people kind of event.  Only one group is available for street cars (so the diversity of cars is vast) – but everyone who has attended in the past has expressed what great value it is\, and what a fantastic day they had with lots of run time. \nBonus is that you’ll get to see all the race cars up close and personal that will be racing at the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix that weekend. \nTo register\, access the event website listed in the details below; for more information you can contact event organizer Colleen Samila (varacvgp@gmail.com) or for an OZC member’s perspective you can contact Glenn Walker at glenn.walker@bell.net

DESCRIPTION:Once again OZC will be attending Canal Days in Port Colborne – one of the many amazing events planned for a weekend full of celebrations. \nOZC Member Harry Wells (and family) will be hosting a much anticipated BBQ after the event… they have done this in previous years and it’s always an amazing event! \nThe day will consist of:\n– 8am to 2pm attend Canal Days Annual Classic Car Show at the VALE Health & Wellness Centre in Port Colborne (Vehicle registration 8am to noon\, OZC reserved parking from 8am to 9am)\n– Plaques for the first 500 cars\, trophies for mayor’s choice\, best paint\, engine etc.\n– 3pm onward… BBQ at the home of Harry Wells (food and beverages will be provided if you RSVP) \nPlease RSVP to Harry at harryawells@gmail.com for details and his home address (so we can get a good idea on how much food to have at the BBQ!) \nParticipation in the Car Show is free and car owners can compete for a number of trophies and prizes. The Mill was built in 1859 by a Scottish immigrant named George McLean. The village of Aberfoyle was named after a small village below the Trossachs mountains\, about 40 km north of Glasgow\, by another Scottsman named George MacFarlane. The Mill Originally functioned as a grist mill\, powered by the pond situated at the back of the building. In 1867\, the Mill won a gold medal\, for its oatmeal at the World’s Fair in Paris.
